Empowering Employee Well-being

Kolo Abrasives Achieves ISO 45003 Certification

Published April 27, 2024

In today's swiftly changing industrial landscape, safeguarding employee health and well-being has become crucial. With the advent of new challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic, companies are actively seeking robust frameworks to manage occupational health and safety (OHS) risks. One framework gaining notable traction is ISO 45003.

ISO 45003 is the world’s first international standard providing guidelines for managing psychological health in the workplace. Developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), it offers practical guidance to organizations for handling psychosocial risks and fostering mental well-being among employees.

Why Does it Matter for Industrial Companies?

Industrial companies frequently operate within high-pressure environments, where factors like extended working hours, demanding tasks, and exposure to hazardous conditions can significantly impact employees' psychological well-being. ISO 45003 acknowledges these challenges and offers a systematic approach to tackle them, thereby bolstering workplace safety and productivity.

The standard is underpinned by four key principles: Risk Management, Prevention and Intervention, Employee Involvement, and Continuous Improvement.

Today, we are thrilled to announce that our Kolo Abrasives site in Poland has achieved ISO 45003:2021 certification following a successful audit in March 2024. It marks our first industrial site within Saint-Gobain Surface Solutions to attain this certification. This achievement underscores our Kolo team's unwavering dedication to providing favourable working conditions and prioritizing the health and well-being of all employees.

For our organization, committed to continually enhancing its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) profile, the adoption of ISO 45003, perfectly aligned with our sustainability objectives, sends a resounding message to our customers and stakeholders, including our employees, that we genuinely prioritise people's welfare.
